Jenny Makeup Artist.
If I were a bride I would ask a few key questions. How long
have they been working on weddings? Are they used to working
on Bridal parties? Are they constantley working as a Makeup
Artist, or are they a beauty therapist? There is a huge
difference in experience and skill, you can land up with
a Jack of all trades rather than a MASTER OF ONE !
Always book both the trial run and the wedding date well
in advance. Check their portfolios for previous work and
always, where possible, meet the person in before the wedding.
A trial run is crucial as liking and trusting your make
up artist you book for your wedding is very important. They
must be capable of doing the very best job possible, for
the most photographed day of your life. |

Make sure that every contract you have with suppliers
detail exactly what service they are providing you and all
of the payment details. Remember to ask about cancellation
policies and phone all suppliers at least one month before
the wedding to confirm bookings.
For entertainment such as magicians and music ask to see
them in action, a decent supplier would be glad to show
off their work.
Don't forget the animals! Prepare care for pets while away
on your honeymoon.
If children are going to be at the wedding it can be a good
idea to set up separate entertainment to keep them occupied.
A good caterer will let you sample their work not just hand
you a menu, always ask. |

When booking your disco, it's always important to have
a disco with experience, who have modern equipment and for
them to be reliable. The last thing you need is for the
disco to arrive late or not at all!
At Elite Discos we send you a contract and require a deposit
which then secures the date you have booked. We work closely
with the client to ensure we play the music you want to
hear on the night, and to make sure you and your guests
have an enjoyable night.
As you will see from our website, you will be able to see
the type of equipment we use, and the photos on the gallery
page of previous weddings we have done in the past |

Let us assume you have decided to have a magician. You
know what you want from your entertainer; whether this is
close-up mingle/table magic, a show for the children or
a mix of the two.
Here are my top 5 tips for a smooth running event:-
- Make sure the venue is aware that a magician is attending and at what time to expect his appearance (pardon the pun)
- If there is to be a static show for the children, is there a suitable room or space for this? The venue and magician may need to liaise with each other.
- If the performance space is out of sight, is there a responsible adult who can be in attendance should any of the children need assistance whilst the magician is performing?
- Does the entertainer have a CRB certificate and Public Liability Insurance? Equity members have automatic PI Insurance.
- It is always good to hear of recommendations, but do try to see the magician in action either at a Wedding Fair or a venue that is open to the public. Make sure you know that you like, and your guests will like, the magician you choose.
